Что (кто) такое sustained acceleration - определение

FOUR-VECTOR THAT IS ANALOGOUS TO CLASSICAL ACCELERATION
4-acceleration; Four acceleration

Surface-wave-sustained discharge
Surface-wave-sustained mode
A surface-wave-sustained discharge is a plasma that is excited by propagation of electromagnetic surface waves. Surface wave plasma sources can be divided into two groups depending upon whether the plasma generates part of its own waveguide by ionisation or not.
Hardware acceleration
USE OF SPECIALIZED COMPUTER HARDWARE TO PERFORM SOME FUNCTIONS MORE EFFICIENTLY THAN IS POSSIBLE IN SOFTWARE RUNNING ON A MORE GENERAL-PURPOSE CPU
Hardware accelerator; Accelerator board; Hardware mixing; Acceleration hardware; Hardware-accelerated; Hardware Acceleration; Hardware accelerators; Hardware accelerated; Hardware acceleration (computing)
Hardware acceleration is the use of computer hardware designed to perform specific functions more efficiently when compared to software running on a general-purpose central processing unit (CPU). Any transformation of data that can be calculated in software running on a generic CPU can also be calculated in custom-made hardware, or in some mix of both.

Four-acceleration

In the theory of relativity, four-acceleration is a four-vector (vector in four-dimensional spacetime) that is analogous to classical acceleration (a three-dimensional vector, see three-acceleration in special relativity). Four-acceleration has applications in areas such as the annihilation of antiprotons, resonance of strange particles and radiation of an accelerated charge.

Примеры употребления для sustained acceleration
1. The raise could lead to a sustained acceleration in the pace of rate hike.
2. Mr Saunders said: "With mortgage commitments down, house price inflation levelling off and consumer confidence softer, the MPC are unlikely to translate stronger sales in the second quarter into a forecast of a sustained acceleration in subsequent quarters."
3. The move had been expected as the bank tries to reign in price increases, and could lead to a sustained acceleration in the pace of rate hikes – something markets will be looking for hints about from ECB President Jean–Claude Trichet.
4. But he added: "The weakening in the labour market, the continuing high level of house prices in relation to earnings and pressure on householders‘ finances from the recent hikes in utility and council tax bills are all expected to curb demand in the coming months, therefore preventing a sustained acceleration in house price inflation." Halifax expects the average property to see its value increase by just 3% during 2006, broadly in line with predicted rises in retail price inflation.
5. Despite the jump in the annual rate of increase, Martin Ellis, Halifax chief economist, sounded a note of caution: "The weakening in the labour market, the continuing high level of house prices in relation to earnings and pressure on householders‘ finances from the recent hikes in utility and council tax bills are all expected to curb demand in the coming months, therefore preventing a sustained acceleration in house price inflation.‘‘ Halfax forecasts an annual increase for 2006 of 3 per cent – still way below the near double digit rates of this time last year.
